Dimitris Chantzaras (b. 1983) is a freelance photographer based between Thessaloniki, Greece and Munich, Germany. He studied Mechanical Engineering and got his degree from Aristoteles University of Thessaloniki.
It was during the course of his studies that he became interested in Photography through the Photography Club (F.O.A.P.Th.) of the University and decided to pursue it as a career. Ever since, he has attended several courses and workshops on photojournalism in Greece and abroad.
He is focusing on social issues and especially the last three years he is working on a long term project about migration following immigrants in their journey to Europe.
His pictures have been published in Newspappers and Magazines such as Al Jazeera, Wall Street Journal, Der Spiegel and many more.
